Introduction
This new method of restructuring management and adapting special management techniques, with the purpose of obtaining better control and use of existing resources. It is currently applied in many industries such as the defense, construction, pharmaceuticals, chemical, banking, hospitals accounting, advertising and law. Companies that do not practice project management will become non competitive. Project Mgt. involves the planning and monitoring of project within defined following constraints: time, cost, desired performance and optimum available resources.

Course Trainer

Michael Clarence is in a unique position of being both an Engineering Consultant and a Trainer for the past 20 years. He supports the local industries in areas to improve operations of maintenance and material management, production management and project management. At the moment he is involved with papers dealing with Failure Assessment Methods of machined and coasted components such as air compressors, fans, turbines and pumps in Oil and Gas Industries in Malaysia.

 

His years of industrial experience as a Senior Technologist in SAE (Singapore) involving the all levels of maintenance works, plant and process operations works, operations of functional systems, designing and modification of engineering components and MRP II. Repair methods using metal cutting, fabrication, and welding concepts were critical areas to major when all other alternatives to replacing parts due to industrial constraints were experienced. His involvement in project management and being aware of the developments in the current practices in materials and repair methods was vital to successful operations.

 

His experiences follow as a Head of Department of Mechanical and Civil in an institute of higher learning where he supervised projects, taught and moderated many subjects related to industrial maintenance practices and project management.

 

His extensive knowledge in overcoming crisis management issues as in areas of projects related to FMEA (Failure Mode & Effect Analysis) and has helped those industries in the development of DFMEA, PFMEA and CFMEA complying to documentation ASQC/AIAG latest practices. His work also focused on the environmental areas in the petroleum refining and gas processing industries focusing on lubrication contamination control methods, carrying out related types of maintenance and lubrication oil analysis scheme on engineering equipment including corrosion prevention practices.

 

Amongst the personnel he has trained in areas of maintenance and material management, production management and project management include Dunlop Malaysia, Sirim Bhd, Rubberflex Bhd, Mardec S/B, Mattel (KL) S/B, Fujitsu Component (M) S/B, Penang Port S/B, Intel Technology S/B, Perwaja Steel S/B, Petronas Gas Processing Plant S/B, Petronas Refineries S/B, Unisem (M) S/B, PKNM, Perusahaan Otomobil NSL S/B, Sony TV Industries S/B, RJ Renolds Tobacco Co. S/B and TNB Resources S/B.

 

Michael is a specialist in this area and to his credit has a Bachelors of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Honors (2nd Class Upper) in from Queen University, United Kingdom and a Masters in Mechanical Engineering from University Malaya.
